Preventive measures which will stop the cats from ruining Venetian Blinds

Few years back I was really upset and worried about how to save my Venetian Blinds from my cats. I have two cats that are so naughty that at times I’d almost have to sit beside my blinds to save them from getting ruined! Yeah it is true that cats love to sit beside windows and enjoy the sun or maybe just watch anything that moves…curious as they are… but of course I can’t allow them to ruin my blinds!
Then thankfully, I came across some really effective measures! Someone suggested me to apply water sprays. The cats hate water sprays and it’s an association thing.

But then that would actually require me to keep an eye on them every time which is not very practicable. Moreover, I can’t hurt their catty sentiments of wanting to peer out of the windows! Then I opted for something else. I rose my Venetian Blinds about 7” to 8” so that my cats do not bend them. I also trimmed their nails a bit so that they can’t catch the Blinds. Then again I found that they do not like the idea of trimming their nails so I bought artificial soft paws for them. It looked like my cats wore nail polish.

These are some of the measures I tried to take care my Venetian Blinds from my cats. These helped me a lot! If you have Venetian Blinds in your home then you can also try these measures. I hope this will save your blinds without ‘offending’ your cats!
